Disaster Relief Hero
Presented to an individual who has exhibited heroic efforts in disaster preparedness, response, or recovery during a natural disaster or emergency. The nominee may have responded to an immediate crisis or demonstrated an ongoing commitment to helping individuals and communities recover through acts of kindness, courage, leadership, and service. Eligible nominees must live or work in Southeastern Pennsylvania but may have served communities locally, nationally, or beyond.
Gift of Life Hero
Presented to an individual, group, or organization that has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to saving lives through blood donation or advocacy. The nominee has significantly contributed to increasing awareness of the importance of blood donation, supporting blood collection efforts, encouraging others to donate, or helping ensure a safe and reliable blood supply for patients in need. Through leadership, community engagement, and dedication to the mission of blood services, the recipient serves as an inspiring champion for the gift of life.
Preparedness Hero
Presented to an educator, school employee, student, or educational institution that has used life-saving skills to save the life of another, promoted preparedness and safety education, or championed the importance of life-saving training within their school or community.
First Responder Hero
Presented to a firefighter, police officer, EMT, paramedic, dispatcher, search and rescue professional, or other emergency responder who demonstrated extraordinary courage, leadership, compassion, or commitment while serving others. The nominee may have responded heroically during a specific emergency or demonstrated an ongoing dedication to protecting and improving the safety of their community.
Humanitarian & Community Impact Hero
Presented to an individual, business, nonprofit, civic organization, community group, or other organization that has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to improving lives and strengthening communities through service, advocacy, volunteerism, philanthropy, partnerships, or innovative programs. The nominee exemplifies the spirit of humanitarian leadership by addressing critical community needs, fostering meaningful collaboration, and creating measurable, lasting impact at the local, national, or global level. Through sustained dedication and compassionate action, the recipient serves as a catalyst for positive change and a model of community engagement.
Youth Hero
The nominee(s) must be 17 years old or under at the time of the incident or act. The eligible nominee(s) has performed an act of heroism involving an unusual, significant or unexpected incident requiring a courageous or unselfish reaction in a crisis or time of need. The nominee(s) can be involved in an on-going commitment to the community through an act/s of kindness, courage, or unselfishness in response to an identified need.
